Ukraine has developed a procedure for export verification of 4 agricultural crops in accordance with the decision of the European Commission. And currently, it does not export agricultural products to 5 neighboring countries without their approval. This was announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi during the meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Visegrad group (Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary).

"We introduce the internal procedure of export verification for 4 crops (corn, rapeseed, sunflower, and wheat) to 5 EU countries. This procedure involves a license issuance by the Ukrainian government within 30 days after the receipt of the export application. During these 30 days, Ukraine informs the European Commission and the corresponding country about the receipt of the export application," emphasized Mykola Solskyi.

He emphasized that the mechanism when exports are not allowed without the approval of the neighboring country is as constructive and clear as possible and takes into account the interests of all the sides. Mykola Solskyi said that Ukraine had sent proposals to the neighboring countries on how to operate the mechanism and was waiting for responses and possible solutions. As of today, an official response has been received from Romania.

Mykola Solskyi expressed his gratitude to each country for understanding, readiness and opportunity to communicate to resolve the situation with Ukrainian agricultural exports.

«I am grateful to Bulgaria for withstanding such tremendous pressure, for its willingness to negotiate and find constructive solutions. We are thankful to Romania for its understanding and strong support. We would like to express our gratitude to Hungary and Slovakia for listening to our proposals and for being ready to continue the discussion. We would like to express our special gratitude to Poland for the maximum support that was always present and is present now and for starting a dialogue on our proposal last week. Our productive negotiations are the key to the successful resolution of the situation and stability in the agricultural sector of each country.» - emphasized the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

It should be reminded that on September 15, the European Commission did not extend the temporary restrictions on exports of Ukrainian agricultural products to 5 EU countries. Following this decision, Ukraine worked out the proposals to reach a compromise within 72 hours. On September 17, the proposals were sent to the European Commission and neighboring countries. On September 18, they were discussed at the coordination platform between Ukraine and the EU.
