The delegation of StateGeoCadastre took part in the 8th meeting of the UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) which is held at the UN headquarter in New York, (USA).

During the meeting, participants discussed topical issues, in particular: administrative regulation and land management, geodetic activities, legislative and policy framework for the implementation of geospatial data infrastructures, maritime geospatial information.

Also during the meeting of the Committee of experts, the document "Integrated Geospatial Framework" ("Integrated Geospatial Framework") was approved which was jointly developed by UN-GGIM and the World Bank experts. This document contains clear recommendations on geospatial data infrastructure’s creation at the national level.

Today, the issue of managing geospatial information at the national, regional and global levels is becoming increasingly important: efficient use of geospatial data will meet the needs of society in receiving the up to date and official information, effectively take managerial decisions, avoid duplication of work, and increase investment attractiveness.

The UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) is a consultative and advisory body of the United Nations that brings together national experts from entire world and provides a platform for discussing topical issues of geospatial information.

Within the framework of UN-GGIM, five (5) regional offices were established, in particular - the European Office of the UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM: Europe). The StateGeoCadaster actively participates in the activities of the UN-GGIM: Europe working groups and uses the recommendations of UN-GGIM to create the National Geospatial Data Infrastructure in Ukraine.
