Land privatization free of charge in existing format sometimes becomes a subject to malpractice.

Roman Leshchenko said: “We are comprehensively observing the process of the free of charge land privatization because the existing format allows unscrupulous citizens to misuse this right. Thus, Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine will initiate a public discussion concerning this topic to replace free privatization in “real” hectares by a right to obtain a fixed discount when buying and renting state-owned land. This discount will be equal and guaranteed for all citizens as well as providing additional benefits for veterans and certain groups of citizens. All you need to do is to file an electronic application. The mentioned discount will be available only for land which is in state ownership as amalgamated communities’ land is managed by local self-governments”

Besides, the Minister added that all applications will be publicly available and the situations when the same land privatized multiple times will be just impossible.
