This was stressed by the Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection Mr. Volodymyr Lapa during the Food Exporters Congress "Ukrainian Food 2016" which took place in Kiev on December 1-2, 2016.

The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection is working hard to become a reliable business partner and a tool for access of Ukrainian goods to foreign markets.

This was stressed by the Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection Mr. Volodymyr Lapa during the Food Exporters Congress "Ukrainian Food 2016" which took place in Kiev on December 1-2, 2016.

"The consumer demand in the domestic market if may rise but slowly because of the economic situation. So the only resource through which we can provide an increase in domestic production - the development of export markets. We aim to be a handy tool for Ukrainian products accessing foreign markets", - the Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection said.

According to him, the EU market is a priority for Ukrainian products. "The EU is self-sufficient and for most types of food products is a net exporter, so is not so easy to enter the European market", - Volodymyr Lapa said.

But at the same time the Head of the Service said that there is a tendency, when Ukrainian food industry applies for recognition of compliance with European requirements not only to export its products to EU member states, but as for receiving so-called EUR numbers. "This is evidence of a certain level, status and is a strong argument in negotiations with trading partners. In other words, the obtain permission to export to the EU – is already some evidence that manufacturing processes and products of the entity meet international standards. And this opens for Ukraine markets of other countries ", - Volodymyr Lapa said, adding that no less interesting for Ukraine are Asian markets, including China, Africa, America and so on.

The main thing, he said, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection is ready to be a partner for business and respond quickly to those signals on the opening of markets that will come from business entities: "If you intend to supply your products in any particular country - contact the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection. We work on such requests, set priorities for markets and work on opening markets for Ukrainian products,"- he stressed.

We recall that the right to export to the EU markets have 277 domestic enterprises, 97 of them - companies that produce food products, 180 - produce goods of non-animal origin.
